We are looking to develop a DUB pathway in our Hysteroscopy service. We’re aiming to reduce the number of women having Hysteroscopy without ‘red flag’ symptoms and those who’ve had no prior medical intervention from the GP.
Doe anyone have pathways to share please?

We use the Storz betocci scopes 2.9mm. We can add the operative sheath over the top to pass down a grasper / scissors / biopsy cup forceps.
We have no issues with these.

We would generally re-scope with recurrent PMB.
I can forward out PMB guideline if that helps. If so, please forward your email address.
Best wishes

We recommend Ibuprofen (if not contra indicated) and paracetamol 1 hour pre procedure, this is in the leaflet. In one hospital we have entonox and this is regularly used, but in our other hospital, we do not have this. We have scandonest 3% for cervical anaesthetic.

Has anybody devised a SOP regarding this that they would be prepared to share with me.

In our appointments letters we mention (pain killer to be taken 1 hour prior to the appointment) ,( the patient will take if they will read the letters)and we also do some local anaesthesia if the patient can not tolerate the pain.
I will really appreciate for more suggestions.

She asks if they got the information leaflet and reminds them about analgesia. She then checks they can attend the given appointment. This has really helped the dna rate. Also picked out the ones the referrer forgot to mention anti coagulation on. The only thing we could improve is a question around mobility and weight as we have had a coupling which would have been more suited to theatre given these factors. Hope this helps
Best wishes
